Other then karate training essential things for athletes include DIET, BAND TRAINING, WEIGHT TRAINING, SPEED- AGILITY TRAINING , FLEXIBILITY TRAINING, MUSCLE TRAINING
Diet - Other then different training diet plays a major role in athletes life. People ignore it as they don't know its impact. If you are not having proper diet your body will not recover from internal tissue loss.
And for strength also you need proper food. By starving you will not get energy required as an athlete
Band training- It is The best way to improve speed.
Weight Training - Weight training is not just for gym . Karatekas also do weight training for power. Especially in kata it is very important . People practice punching with dumbbells
Flexibility training - The more your body is flexible more the chances of injuries reduces. If you are joining Taekwondo your coach will more focus on the flexibility training that's why there flexibility is the best. In karate this thing is still lacking
Muscle Training - This includes sitting in karate stances for long duration for its its betterment or pushpus, deep squats.
In normal dojos all above things are not found.
Basically all these things champion practice if one is doing excellent in karate and very passionate about it then one should be trained in this way
